CBE embarks on a Back-to-School Campaign
The Council for the Built Environment (CBE) is excited to announce our Back-to-School Campaign, under the theme “Education is a Basic Right.” The theme underscores CBE’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in the sector by encouraging more young learners to pursue mathematics and science subjects. The campaign commences with a career expo on 5 February 2025, at Khetsalwati Secondary School in the Ehlanzeni District Municipality, Mpumalanga, South Africa, and continues at Lundanda Primary School in the Ehlanzeni District Municipality on 6 February 2025.
The campaign also aims to support career development initiatives for school learners in the built environment sector and is a key component of Intervention 3, which focuses on implementing skills development interventions as outlined in the CBE Skills Pipeline Strategy. The strategy includes the push, intermediate, and pull interventions to promote professionalisation and skills development in the industry by addressing skills shortages and promoting sustainable development.
The campaign will further provide mentorship, career talks, and essential resources to learners, with a specific focus on inspiring them to consider careers in the built environment. Additionally, it will involve donations of shoes, stationery, and hygiene products to support the education and well-being of the learners. Dr. Msizi Myeza, CEO of the CBE, expressed, “These initiatives are crucial in developing the next generation of professionals in the Built Environment sector, fostering diversity and inclusion, and addressing skills shortages.”
The CBE invites you to contribute to our life-changing and crucial initiatives. We welcome donations of school shoes, stationery, or hygiene products.
