BUILT ENVIRONMENT NATIONAL STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

The Council for the Built Environment (CBE) is hosting a Built Environment National Stakeholder Engagement, on 26 July 2024 from 09:00 to 16:00 at the River Meadow Manor in Irene, Centurion. The theme of the event is “Past, Present and Future Mirror”
This crucial event unites key stakeholders from the Built Environment sector, including industry leaders, policymakers, academics, and professionals, to tackle challenges and drive innovation. It offers a platform for robust discussions and collaboration on critical issues like infrastructure development, regulatory frameworks, construction innovation, and environmental sustainability, fostering a shared vision for sustainable and inclusive growth.

During the engagement CBE will present the following:

1. The CBE 20-year review study, offering valuable insights into the current state and prospects of the built environment in South Africa. The event will feature:
2. Strategic Vision: Navigating the Future with the Council for the Built Environment’s Medium-Term Framework.
3. State of the Built Environment: An Audit Perspective by the Auditor-General of South Africa.
4. Ensuring Sustainability and Promoting Resilient Infrastructure: Just Transition Financing Mechanism.

The CBE is committed to advancing the Built Environment sector through successful strategic partnerships with industry leaders, governmental bodies, and community organisations, enhancing sustainability and innovation. About the CBE:

The Council for the Built Environment (CBE) is a Schedule 3A Public Entity that reports to the National Department of Public Works and Infrastructure. It is a regulatory body established under the Council for the Built Environment Act 43 of 2000 (the CBE Act) that coordinates the following six Councils for the Built Environment Professions – Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Engineering, Property Valuers, Project and Construction Management, and Quantity Surveying – and through memoranda of understanding these include Town and Regional Planning, Land Surveying, and Environmental Assessment.

The CBE was established for the purpose of instilling good conduct within the Built Environment Professions, mobilising transformation in the Built Environment Professions, protecting the interest of the public in the Built Environment and advising the South African Government on Built Environment related issues.
